SUSTAINABILITY Director

EQ is seeking a Sustainability Practice Director to join our team. This is a leadership role that provides an opportunity to shape the direction of our sustainability consulting practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee sustainability project managers in delivery of green building certification projects.

  • Develop and oversee department revenue goals, track and set project budgets.

  • Determine and monitor department, staff and project performance goals.

  • Lead the staff planning, hiring and organizational strategy of the team.

  • Provide high-level meeting support (eg. attend key LEED meetings and sustainability strategy, support PM as a technical resource)

  • Set and allocate staff budgets for conferences, training, etc.

  • Act as sustainability project manager for select projects, and fill in as temporary project manager as project or staffing needs demand.

  • Engage in industry events and activities to gain knowledge of industry trends and encourage business growth.

  • Research the industry to aid in the pursuit of business development opportunities, and expanding service lines.

  • Lead new project pursuits and play role in business development activities.

  • Represent EQ as speaker/presenter/attendee at conferences, workshops, design review panels, etc., as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or masters degree in engineering, environmental studies, environmental science, architecture / building science, or a closely related field.

  • 8+ years experience in the green building industry, with a minimum of 4 years in a direct consulting capacity in the documentation of green building rating systems such as LEED.

  • LEED® AP BD+C credential in good standing.

  • P.Eng., PMP, CET or other relevant professional designation.

  • WELL, Fitwel, and related certifications are an asset.

  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam is an asset.

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Exceptional organizational skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office environment

  • Some out-of-office work may be required

  • Office equipment use (computer, copier, etc.)

  • Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required.
